To All Our Hang Time Family,

across the state, it is with heavy heart that I
announce the end of Hang Time in Hartford. Since June of 2019, the excitement
and success of Hang Time in the capital city has been a sense of pride for all
chapters of the program.
The community members of Hartford immediately welcomed the Hang Time
motto of “Real Talk with Respect” as well as the concept of a blended society of
support for all that attend. During our short tenure we were highly successful at
assisting many formerly incarcerated men and women finding their way to
much needed services and a sense of belonging to a positive community and
The level of social capital achieved by all attendees of the program could never
be replicated due to our unique session approach, brand of personal interaction,
mutual respect and compassionate staff. Anyone that has ever attended a Hang
Time session can attest that it is an experience that far exceeds any “program”.
Faced with the reality of external and internal financial strains (due in large part
to the COVID-19 ripple effect) and adjustments of the Peace Center’s priorities,
the program will end effective today, Monday April 6th , 2020.
We invite and encourage all Hartford Hang Time family member/attendees to
visit and participate in sessions at any of our other three locations in the state if
possible. The schedule for each city will continue to be posted on our Facebook
and our website.
Please join me in thanking former Program Director Iran Nazario and his team,
Jackie Halten Ford, Alyssa Mantello and Sulyeman Er,  for proving how Hang Time
fulfills a re-entry need and has a positive impact on any communities it touches.
We wish our former Hartford Hang Time staff and family the best and

God bless you all!

Charles Grady
